Description
Why the display fails
The LCD inside the climate control unit wears out with age. A bright half-moon patch spreads in from the edge and the numbers lose segments. The rest of the unit usually still works, so you only need a new LCD and its two contact strips.
What the job involves
Pull the unit from the dash, swap the LCD and contact strips, and refit it. Basic hand tools only: a T20 Torx, No. 1 and No. 2 Phillips screwdrivers, a plastic trim tool and small pliers. No soldering, no wiring. Printed instructions are included with your order.
Before you fit it
- Peel the clear protective film off the new LCD.
- Peel the clear backing off both sides of each contact strip.
- If a backing will not peel cleanly, stop and call us. We will replace the strip.

Very Impressed
I wanted to replace my climate control panel from the day I bought my 1999 Boxster, even contemplating buying a used one from E-Bay. At $250 and up (just for used ones) that was a big risk. I am so glad I came across this replacement kit. It worked perfectly and was very easy to install following the instructions (none came with the package, but I downloaded them from this site). My Boxster interior looks so much nicer now and I don't have to guess which mode I'm in.
