The OEM back pad on the engine bay side of the firewall was heavy and known to absorb water causing rust underneath it. This replacement pad is precision cut using the OEM as a template. The material is fire-resistant and has excellent sound deadening properties.

It is soft as it is large closed cell foam so if you glue it in you will destroy it taking it out. To be able to clean behind and remove easily I lined the edges and contact points with aircraft speed tape. It takes some time to apply but makes it durable enough to use Velcro to hold it in place and remove as necessary.
