New production of the cork valve cover gasket. This has been made from a thicker cork material to provide a better seal than the factory part. Over time the bales on the valve covers lose tension which causes them to leak. 2 required per car.

I am thoroughly disgusted with Victor Reinz and Dana and Elring all of whom seem to be in lock-step with cheaping out and making skinnier gaskets. Last year's VR was 19 grams, this year's order was 12.8 grams each. NO! VW made *tabs* on the valve covers to grab the gasket mid-length to hold them against their natural tendency to expand and appear "sucked-in" with attendant loss of oil and burning smell. I pray these 914 Rubber gaskets work, I will send 60,000 people your way if we indeed have a chance to get correct gaskets once more.
They are tight fit, but do the job. Better than stock.
