Customer Cars: David Algie's 1975 Porsche 914 2.0L

We love seeing what exciting projects our customers are currently working on. Every month we would like to showcase a couple of cars in whatever state they are in - on the road or on the rack.

This month's customer car story comes from David Algie with his 1975 Porsche 914 2.0. The car previously belonged to his brother who had owned it since 1977.

The car suffered engine damage from ingesting Mt. St. Helens ash and was garaged for nearly 45 years until 2022.  After hauling it to home to Tucson David began to resurrect the car with the goal of building a weekend driver.

After eight long months, the car is nearly ready for the road. He has rebuilt the top end of the engine, overhauled the brake system, rebuilt the Weber carburetors and replaced the majority of parts which had deteriorated over the years.

The car recently came out of paint and now sports a fresh coat of Metallic Fire Mist Green Paint. Awesome job saving a snapshot of history David, we hope you are able to get on the road this summer and enjoy driving with the top off! Thanks for the great submission!
